Supporting people governance
Redbridge Council, as the Administering Authority
(AA), delivers
the programme to ensure Supporting People is able to meet its
vision and aims; it is managed on a day-to-day basis through the
Supporting People Team.
The Supporting People Team is required to report regularly on
its progress to internal and external bodies. The Department
for Communities and Local Government (DCLG),
the Council Cabinet, and the Health and Social Care Advisory
Committee are external. The Commissioning Body (CB) and the Programme Management Group (PMG) are internal groups
which meet regularly.
Department for Communities and Local Government
(DCLG)
The DCLG has the main
responsibility for the Supporting People Programme. It
allocates a Supporting People Grant to Administering Authorities
and monitors their performances.
The Council Cabinet
The Cabinet is the Council's principal decision-making
body. The Cabinet Member for Adult Social Services may approve
changes and receives regular Supporting People progress reports,
and members are consulted through the Adult
Social Services and Housing Scrutiny Committee.
The Health and Social Care Advisory
Committee
The Health and Social
Care Advisory Committee assist in evaluating, investigating and
supporting policy development in key areas.
