Guide to Summer Fun out now
02 July 2009
Press Release Number: PR502
Planning what to do during the summer holidays is a whole
lot easier with this year’s Family Guide to Summer Fun. The
free brochure, compiled by Redbridge Council, has been sent to
every school and library in the Borough and is also available to
download online.
Activities and events include theatre performances, stories and
face painting at local libraries, sports coaching courses, Active
Camps and the Summer Buds Club, regular Wednesday activities
through the holidays featuring recyclable arts and crafts and
exploring a local nature reserve.
The programme also outlines a number of free events with music
in the Borough’s parks, the popular Play Ranger Scheme and a range
of nature walks and talks.
Cllr Alan Weinberg, Cabinet Member for Leisure said, “Our summer
activity brochure always proves popular and I’m sure this year’s
selection of events and activities won’t disappoint. There’s
plenty to suit everyone with great ideas to keep children active
and entertained during the holidays.”
