Volunteering Programme

Volunteering Opportunities Programme 2009

Tree Dressing at Claybury WoodsVolunteering is increasingly important for local communities as a way of encouraging people, from a broad range of backgrounds, interests and experiences, to work together towards a common goal and put something back into their local community.

Culture, Sport and Community Learning Service have produced a guide for Redbridge residents, of all Cultural and Leisure volunteering opportunities that are available within Redbridge.

Volunteers will significantly contribute to the provision of some of our services and the programme is a precursor to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, where it is hoped that a large number of volunteers will contribute to its success.

The benefits of this programme for volunteers are vast. They include gaining new skills, improving existing skills, boosting confidence, creating opportunities to meet new people and potentially contributing to the development of the community.Keep Fit

It is hoped that by taking a regular part in volunteering, the experience will give residents a greater chance of being able to volunteer at the 2012 Games
