Adventure Play
If you go down to the Forest today, you'll be in for a
big surprise...
Following consultation
with local children and thanks to BIG lottery funding, Hainault
Forest Country Park now have 3 exciting new play areas to challenge
children of all ages. The 3 areas consist of the Adventure
Play Trail and the Adventure Play Towers, both located within the
farm and the Woodland Trail, in the trees behind the lake.
Adventure play trail
The Adventure Play Trail consists of balancing posts, climbing
wall, bouncy bridge, climbing ropes and foot swings. Designed
with younger children in mind, they can get on at any point and
complete the circuit by moving from each different piece of
equipment. It is challenging and fun and helps to create
confidence and develop balancing and co-ordination skills.
The climbing wall in particular has proved to be a big hit with the
children.
Adventure play towers
The Adventure Play Towers is a series of 3 tall towers linked
with bridges and accessed by climbing equipment. Designed for
children aged 8-13 yrs it is physically more demanding than
traditional play equipment and provides more of a thrill. In
the same area, there is another popular piece of equipment in the
form of a circular swing, which is accessible to less-abled
children. It looks like a spider’s web and can accommodate 6
or 7 children for a fun ride.
Adventure woodland trail
Discovering the Adventure Woodland Trail as you walk through the
trees is a great surprise for teenagers and young people. The
structure uses a series of balancing ropes and bridges to complete
a circuit suspended between the trees. Anyone can use
this equipment, including adults if they are so inclined and it is
great incentive further explore the woodland and discover other
opportunities for natural play.
