Youth Service

Our Youth Service works to provide all young people, aged between 11 to 25 years, with a range of enjoyable opportunities, challenging experiences and effective support that will enhance their personal, social and educational development during the transition to adulthood.

We achieve this by managing the following services:

Four youth centres across the Borough

1. Downshall Centre
2. Hainault Youth Centre
3. Loxford Youth Centre
4. Wanstead Youth Centre  

• a drop-in and advice centre in the centre of Ilford- Ilfomation - with active support for the Connexions programme  
• outdoor education and adventurous activities including the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme 
• other accreditation programmes such as arts, including Arts and Dance and Sports Accreditation 
• the Detached Team who works with young people on the streets 
• a team dedicated to working with young people with learning difficulties or with physical and sensory impairments
• Youth Council and Youth Involvement     
• Youth Opportunities Fund
• Our own dedicated website Redbridge Youth Info website.

Redbridge i now has a Youth Matters Forum where residents particulary the younger ones can have their say. 

Tell us what makes you feel safe

Redbridge Council is asking children and young people ‘how safe do you feel?’. We are asking five questions about how safe you feel and what can be done to make you feel safer. Your views will help us decide the best way we can help to make you and other children and young people in the borough feel safer.  The Children’s Participation Development Officer, will give you  feedback on your comments, on what will be decided about your views and those of other young people in Redbridge.
