Book Purchase
Redbridge Schools' Library Service can help schools to buy
books for their school library in the following ways:
- Visit the school to do a stock check to identify missing
subject areas, followed up by a visit to a Book Supplier. SLS will
take the school librarian to the supplier and advise on suitable
titles or, with authorisation from the school, will purchase
suitable titles on the school's behalf.
- Allow schools to use SLS stock (available on the internet) to
identify good up-to-date resources that can be bought for their own
libraries.
- Order books for schools at a discount through the public
libraries acquisitions department.
- Provide schools with the opportunity to purchase excellent,
recent second hand SRS stock for minimal prices to supplement the
school stock until funding for new books can be raised.
