Community Profiles
The library service is currently undergoing a restructure,
coming together with other services to create a new service area
called 'Culture, Sport and Community Learning'. This restructure
will obviously impact upon the way the libraries are run and the
way in which services are provided. The aim of the restructure is
to review service delivery and refocus the libraries on the
customer, providing a more efficient and effective service.
Community profiles have been prepared for each of the libraries
in the borough. These profiles have been prepared using statistics,
other local data, and information gathered from a series of
workshops with staff at each library. The community profiles aim to
provide a basis for future planning and development, ensuring that
each library is fully aware of the characteristics of its
community, and is able to provide services accordingly.
