The Mayors Appeal
As well as performing civic duties, the Mayor will select a
national or local charity to support during their year of office.
The Mayor's Appeal Committee will raise money by organising a wide
range of events, functions and activities. All money raised goes
direct to the Mayor's chosen charity at the end of the Mayoral
year.
The Mayor's Appeal charities for 2009/10 are:
REBEP
Redbridge Business Education Partnership (ReBEP) is a charity which
exists to develop and enhance the skills and potential of the local
business community and their future workforce through structured
education, training and enterprise initiatives
Alzheimer's Society (Redbridge Branch)
Alzheimer's Society is a
membership organisation, which works to improve the quality of
life of people affected by
dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Make a donation to the Mayor's Appeal
If you wish to make a donation to the Mayor's Appeal you can do
this by three methods:
Support the Appeal
You can support the Mayor's appeal in various ways:
- By attending the many Appeal
events
- Making a donation online to the appeal -The only
Local Authority Mayor in London who offers this online
facility
- or, if you have any unwanted Christmas or Birthday presents
that could be used for raffle prizes, tombolas etc, they will be
gratefully received.
