Councillors
Councillors are your local elected representatives. They
are usually members of a political party, though some may choose
not to belong to any party and are called independents.
The Borough is divided into 21 wards each comprising of
three elected representatives bringing the total number of
councillors to 63. Currently, the Conservative Group hold
31 seats, the Labour Group hold 14 seats, the
Liberal Democrat Group hold 13 seats, the
Independent Councillors Group hold 4 seats and there is 1
independent Member.
The next election in Redbridge will be held in 2010.
You can meet with your local councillors at their regular public
surgeries. Surgeries are informal, open sessions that councillors
host in each ward. Come along to meet your councillors and raise
your issues and concerns. You can also contact local councillors
directly by phone, in writing, or by email.
