Medium-Term Financial Strategy
The purpose of the Council's Medium-Term Financial Strategy is
to support the Council's corporate planning process and to indicate
the resource issues and principles, which will be used to shape the
Council's annual budget development and medium term financial
plans.
It sets out the current and projected financial forecasts over a
three-year planning timeline and is aimed at supporting the
development of the Council's budget over this period.
The strategy provides the framework against which the Council
will plan and manage its resources to enable the effective delivery
of its key plans and strategies aimed at delivering excellent and
value for money services to its wide range of stakeholders as set
out in the Corporate Strategy - Delivering
Excellence.
Updates have been made to the Strategy document to reflect the
impact of the current economic climate, changes in legislation
and/or updates within the public sector financing regime including
the Local Government Finance Settlement for 2009/10.
